My current body of work, of which the video “I’m Losing You And It’s Effortless” is a part, investigates the everyday failures and breathtaking catastrophes of human interaction and experience. The imagery creates a sense of potential anxiety and unease, a hovering on the edge of the unknown, through fragmented and repetitive images of crisis and disaster – the artifacts and wreckage of wildfires, earthquakes, wars, hurricanes. Yet the work is open and gives the viewer room to project themselves into the landscape, to draw correlations to their own situation and relationships. The work negotiates the precarious line between chaos and beauty.
