"dive/awake" explores reawakening after one has been asleep in a "coma" of doing things according to how others want us to do them, of being the way others want us to be.
It evokes and relates feelings of suffocation, numbness, despair, regret for time and opportunities lost. Do we dare shed outmoded ways of being, and take a leap of faith into the unknown, risking rebirth and resurrection?
"dive/awake" was shot on Super 8, then transferred to digital video for post production. This approach combines the beauty of Super 8 film's lo-fi grain with the beauty of effects only available through the use of non-linear editing software.
